The 2015 TCA Junior and Bantam Bonspiel is now accepting entries. The ONLINE entry portal is open on the TCA website. This years event will be running on December 28-30 for the Juniors and Dec 29 and 30 for the Bantams. A new format for both events is in place for 2015 and should add some extra excitement this season. Entry deadline is November 1st. Don’t hesitate as we anticipate a wait list this year with the new format.
The OJCT is pleased to welcome two new Board Members this upcoming season: Perry Marshall and Brendan Craig. Special thanks to outgoing members Doug Kreviazuk, Bruce Shurtleff, and Curtis Easter for their efforts over the years.
We are pleased to announce that Stu Sells Simple Real Estate, in partnership with the High Park Club, have created the Stu Sells Junior Tankard, an early season, elite-level junior cash bonspiel designed to allow competitors from across Ontario and beyond to get valuable games and high level competition early in the junior season. This event will have cash prizes for all event winners and two special prizes for the main event winner in both the men's and women's events.
Running from September 18 -20, 2015 at the historic High Park Curling Club in west Toronto, twelve mens and twelve ladies teams are anticipated to participate in two six team pools for each gender. Each team will have five pool games and one bye over the weekend play that commences each day at 8:00 AM. There will be six draws each on Friday and Saturday leading to six event finals which will take place on Sunday.
What makes this event extra special is the relationship the Stu Sells Junior Tankard will have with the Stu Sells Tankard events in Oakville and Toronto (High Park). Each main event winning team will be invited to play in the Stu Sells Tankard at High Park running October 9 -12, 2015 with their entry fees paid by Stu Sells Supports. As well, each team will be invited to an on-ice practice session Thursday, October 8 prior to the event with one or more of the premier curlers attending the event plus have an opportunity to meet with them afterwards to learn more about curling on the competitive circuit.
Stu Sells Supports is a program designed to help young and upcoming teams afford to play in curling tournaments across Canada. It provides an opportunity to compete against the top teams, gain valuable experience and sportsmanship.
To top it all off and in true High Park Club style on Friday and Saturday night, the High Park Club upper lounge will be turned into a place for curlers, coaches and their families and fans to socialize. Live music and great food will be available to allow teams and supporters to be together before or after their late aftrnoon and evening draws. There will also be activities on Friday and Saturday to bring awareness to and support the Stu Sells Supports Foundation and the junior program of the High Park Club.

Hello Junior Curlers and Coaches!
It is with heavy heart we have to announce that due to circumstances beyond our control the Annandale OJCT event is cancelled for at least this season and most likely going forward. We would like to thank everyone who supported us the past two years and wish things could have been different.
Good luck and good curling!

The Ontario Junior Curling Tour has recognized that some rural clubs are having difficulties in recruiting coaches. One of the reasons is the cost of the courses and a lack of funds within these clubs. The OJCT has some funds that can be made available to assist in this area. These funds will be made available to coaches registering for a Competition Coach course in the fall of 2015. Coaches must come from curling clubs with a membership less than 200 and be from a municipality of less than 100,000 population. It is hope of the OJCT that this will help in the development of youth curlers in Ontario. These funds are limited and will be distributed on a first come basis. Assistance will be limit to 50% of the course cost to a maximum of $100.00 per club.
Coaches please submit a letter outlining the following:
- Club Name
- Club Membership
- Coach name, mailing address, and email address
- Course cost
- Proof of registration
- Coaching Level eg. Bantam or Junior
Letter or email should be submitted to:
Matt Wilkinson, OJCT Chair,
50 – 510 Goldbeck Lane
It is with regret that Port Perry has announced they will not be continuing with their tour event. The club was unable to find volunteers able to continue running the event.
Bill Rourke and his team extend thanks to all teams that supported the event and to the sponsors, notably Harp & Wylie Grillhouse, Goreski's Landing, and Quality Hotel Oshawa.
All-Star Voting is open until 8pm on February 6th, make sure you cast your ballots!
Be sure to register your team's roster information for this season.

Given the popularity of October 17-19, Thornhill Curling will provide a one-day minispiel option for those unable to gain entry to Brampton and the SuperSpiel Qualifier. The $120 entry fee includes two games and lunch for four players. The games are 10am and 1:30pm, Saturday October 18. Entries are limited to four ladies and four men’s bantam or junior teams. Thornhill G&CC is located at 7994 Yonge Street, Thornhill. This minispiel is intended to provide game challenges but is ineligible for OJCT points.
Make Cheque payable to Thornhill G&CC.
It is with sadness that I must advise you of the cancellation of the Galt Junior Curling Classic bonspiel. Galt Curling Club has experienced a compressor problem that is preventing them from having playable ice in time for this event.
I am working with the club to examine alternate dates to run the event at Galt but am also conscious of not being in conflict with any other established OJCT events.
Once I have established a go forward position for the event either at Galt or another facility I will reach out to all the confirmed teams for this event and those on the wait list to solicit interest for an alternate date and/or location. It is my intention to do everything possible to have a replacement event run this fall.
I have not cashed a single entry cheque so there will be no worries on that side for any teams.
My sincere apologies for any problems this may cause for your teams.
Galt Junior Curling Classic
We're pleased to welcome athletes Madeline Calvert & Leah Will to the Tour Board. Recognizing that junior athletes helped start the tour in the first place, the board will welcome an additional player representative going forward to enhance opportunities for players to have a stake in the management of Ontario's competitive junior circuit. Madeline and Leah join existing member Curtis Easter on that front - don't hesitate to speak with them and provide your feedback when you see them on tour.
